About this trek

The Mardi Himal Trek is a short and scenic trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal, offering breathtaking close-up views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. It is a moderate-level trek that usually takes 4–7 days to complete, starting from Kande or Phedi and ending at Siding Village near Pokhara. The trail passes through dense rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung villages, and high alpine meadows, leading up to the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 m). Compared to other treks in the region, it is less crowded and peaceful, making it ideal for trekkers seeking natural beauty and solitude. The best seasons to trek are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). Accommodation is available in tea houses along the trail, and trekkers need the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and a TIMS card.
